Ryan Moats? A Worthy Gamble?
I’m torn on this one. I traded for Moats and gave up good young talent in Mike Wallace in my keeper league. I have Forte and with the exception of last week he has been a disappointment. Down the playoff stretch Forte’s schedule is truly horrific. So I’m going with the Run and Shoot down the playoff push. I have the advantage of now owning Brees and Driver. I traded Rivers and Austin for them. Rivers is good but he can’t win a ff game for you by himself where Brees can. Austin is playing great and explosive but Driver has been above expectations and has been a steady player in PPR leagues. That leaves me a starting lineup of Brees, Barber, B Edwards, C Johnson, and Driver for the stretch run. Should be good enough to get into the playoff dance.
Is Moats the difference maker I am looking for? I’m tempted to play Moats over Forte this week. I have read rotoworld.com, fftoday.com, football.razzball.com, texansgab.com, and fftoolbox.com and I can’t get a good read as to how much time Moats is going to get this week. Conventional fantasy wisdom will tell you to play Forte because he is guarenteed touches and is coming off a decent week. But the other cardinal rule is to play the hot hand. Moats is the hot hand? Gimmie some feedback folks…. I’m torn. But if have a propensity to go balls out then Moats is the way to go!

Moats could become a #1 round draft pick next year, of course this week will be important to hold and watch him. Mike Wallace is nothing compared to the chance to hold a running back who’s only played 3 years and never given a chance to play often enough.

I am the person who traded for mike Wallace. I think I got a better deal. If Mike Wallace has already surpassed Limas Sweed a number 1 pick for 3rd receiver postion and is playing this well with limited touches skys the limit for him in the future. As for the other deal that was made. Phillip Rivers always plays well down the stretch and to get a QB who will probably not be playing for part of the Fantasy playoffs yet another bad move. And by the way Driver has been playing well but this is a keeper league and old recivers fall off the following year after having one last horrah plus miles Austin is out playing Driver now anyway.

Moats will start and but be splitting carries with Slaton, and is strongly useable this season especially during the playoff weeks 14 15 16 when they are planning for the future. Both players make good keeper league players, and so would Charles if the Chiefs had an offensive line. However, for the remainder of the season, Charles is a very good fantasy pickup.

I concur… I traded for Moats so I think he was worth dealing Wallace. I truly believe that Moats holds value in fantasy. I also believe that Jim is spot on w. Charles. Charles is going to have a big week this wk. As big as you can have with a crapPy KC O line…Bottom line down the strech a RB waiver wire pu is usually better then a WR….mainly bc there are many more WRs to choose from then RBs…

True, fantasy RB’s are more important then WR’s because there are more wide receivers to choose from who can put up numbers each week. Not so with RB’s because of the increase in the RBBC by more teams, many weekly waiver wire RB pickups won’t give many points, so in a keeper league the value of finding the next RB steve slaton (MOATS) of houston rather then WR andre johnson (WALLACE) of houston seems better for me to choose Moats as a more likely 1st round draft pick next season by all means.
